Senior Climate & Energy Expert

Job Title: Senior Climate & Energy Expert
Location: Flexible – Dublin/London offices, or remote working (global)
Position Type: Permanent

Role:

  • As a member of the new Emex Sustainability expert team, your role will be to lead the development of the Climate & Energy solutions within the company and ensure that they are solving current and expected challenges that customers will face.
  • Providing solutions to support customers in: measuring their CO2 performance (Scope 1, 2 and 3), building science‐based targets, identifying levers to support a transition towards climate neutrality, and so on
  • You will also be expected to collaborate and build partnerships with the main Climate & Energy organizations to remain at the forefront of this topic.
  • You will be working in a team that values opinions, recognizes contributions, encourages collaboration, whilst developing cutting‐edge software
  • Advancing your professional development, pursuing learning opportunities and cross‐department experiences

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be an SME (Subject Matter Expert) on Climate & Energy
  • Lead the development of new and innovative solutions to support our customers in their sustainability journey
  • Ensure compliance with main sustainability ratings (e.g. DJSI, CDP) and frameworks (e.g. GRI, SASB) in collaboration with the Sustainability ratings and frameworks expert
  • Work closely with all other sustainability experts to develop integrated solutions covering all the spectrum of sustainability and guide our customers towards integrated thinking
  • Report to Emex’s Sustainability lead

Mandatory Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Climate & Energy
  • Master’s degree in environment or sustainability, with a focus on climate change
  • Beyond Climate & Energy, strong interest for other sustainability areas and integrated thinking
  • Excellent communication skills and organizational skills
  • Solution oriented – able to identify pragmatic approach to solve customer challenges
    related to sustainability
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in building science‐based targets for a large company
  • Experience within organizations such as IEA, TCFD etc.
  • Experience with ratings agencies (eg. CDP)
  • Experience with external verifiers/sustainability data assurance

key role in developing a sales strategy to generate leads and opportunities for the team. As an
Enterprise Account Executive at Emex, you will engage with leaders worldwide in the Environment,
Health & Safety, and Sustainability space to help guide them in digitalising and managing their
sustainability reporting to improve performance. You will be working in a close‐knit, friendly team
that values opinions, recognises contributions and encourages collaboration. You will be eager to

Requirements:

  • Degree from a top university (minimum of 2:1 qualification)
  • 5+ years of sales experience, preferably selling a technical product, with a track record of top
    performance
  • Ability to understand complex technical requirements and craft solutions across multiple
    products
  • Ability to develop and execute account plans spanning multiple business units across
    complex organisations
  • Strong presentation skills, particularly for in‐person meetings with multiple stakeholders
  • Proven ability to lead complex negotiations involving bespoke commercial agreements
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to operate in a highly ambiguous and fast‐paced environment
  • Strong interest in technology and a deep interest in the safety, sustainability, and environment space

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in team meetings, networking, trade show events and activities to grow the
    business
  • Own a named account list and develop account plans for winning and expanding business
    with upper middle market and enterprise companies
  • Develop outbound strategies to create and nurture opportunities
  • Own the full sales cycle from lead to close for upper middle market and enterprise
    companies
  • Develop relationships with executive stakeholders at new and existing clients
  • Work with company leaders from multiple functions (e.g. Engineering, Product, Sales) to
    lead complex product workshops and financial analyses
  • Lead and contribute to team projects to develop and refine our sales process
  • Engage with Product and Engineering teams to help drive product strategy
